To further promote and strengthen the globalization of senior management in BASF Group, and to provide equal opportunities to high potential employees worldwide, BASF introduced the “Executive Candidate Program”. The program is aimed at continuously developing talents to fill senior management positions within the BASF Group on a global scale. Candidates nominated will receive tailor-made, high-quality development. A corporate unit in BASF headquarter, which is centrally responsible for managing global senior executives, pays close attention to each candidate’s development plan.
To support the directive of “Regionalization of Management in Asia Pacific”, BASF Asia Pacific introduced the “Asia Pacific Program for Leadership Excellence” to systematically identify and develop talents for business and functional management positions in the region. The program fully supports BASF 2015 “Form the Best Team in Industry” strategic guideline. Candidates nominated will have the opportunity to be assigned to work in other countries in Asia Pacific or globally and to receive more challenges at any time.
Up to year 2010, the target of BASF in Asia Pacific is to achieve 20% of BASF Group sales and earnings, of which 50% will come from China. There is no doubt that the realization of this grand goal needs a large number of excellent talents. BASF has always been committed to develop and train local talents in Greater China. Therefore, the company especially developed the Early Development Candidate Program to grow local talents to fill management positions within Greater China. The program systematically identifies high potential employees for management positions, and provides individuals with customized trainings and development to help them exert their potential and prepare them for more challenging tasks.
